Child & Teen Classes
Thank you for your interest in classes at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center. We are proud to say that this is our 50th year offering classes in the East Bay. This fall, we have thirty-one ballet, modern, jazz and hip-hop classes for children of all ages.
We offer classes for the absolute beginner all the way up to our pre-professional modern program for the most serious students. At Shawl-Anderson, we believe classes should be warm, welcoming, age appropriate, technical, challenging, and a fun learning experience as well. Please speak to any staff member if you have questions. Assistant Director Jill Randall is happy to meet with any family to discuss classes, levels, or scholarships. Shawl-Anderson is known for its excellent teaching staff. Every teacher in our children's division brings years of expertise and experience to their classes. Many of our teachers have taught in public school arts programs, after school programs, preschools, and as caregivers. Most of our staff members are also active in their professional artistic pursuits as performers and choreographers. Assistant Director Jill Randall brings 10 years of experience working in dance education in public schools, preschools, and in studios to the Center.
